Join Coro Realty Advisors in Honoring Patricia L. Pearlberg
Patti's battle with cancer began on September 3, 2009 when she had her first cancer surgery after being diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Patti endured numerous tests, frequent doctor visits, and chemotherapy treatments that lasted until March of 2010, all while continuing her work as Partner and VP at Coro Realty Advisors. Though it was a long and rough road, she remained true to her life motto - Fight Like A Girl!
Over the next five years, Patti continued her routine checkups and maintenance medication, and in March of 2015 Patti was declared cancer-free. Unfortunately, the celebrating was short-lived as cancer reared its ugly head again, and in September of 2015 she learned she had metastatic breast cancer that had metastasized in her liver. Though the news was devastating, she decided to not let cancer slow her down. Patti continued to work, travel with her family (her true passion), and remained a leader in the real estate community, all while undergoing continuous chemotherapy treatments and taking too many medications to count. Some of the treatments worked for a while, but none lasted long.
Patti used her experiences to help others by continuously fundraising for Susan G. Komen. She walked the Komen 3-Day, 60-mile walk five times in three different cities: Atlanta (three times), Cleveland, and Philadelphia. She spent thousands of hours training, and participated in countless races for a cure. Her team, The Blister Sisters, has raised over $250,000 for the Komen organization.
She showed strength and perseverance to everyone around her, and was a constant reminder that life is meant to be lived. One of her all-time favorite quotes comes from Hunter S. Thompson,
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
Patti spent her final days spending time with her family, sipping wine with friends on her front porch, jumping on a plane to travel the world with her loving husband, Van, and enjoying her favorite pastime, playing with her grandsons, Joey and Drew.
Please help honor Patricia L. Pearlberg by raising funds to support Susan G. Komen so they can provide education, screening and treatment programs for women and men in our community, and support cutting-edge research so that one day we can live in a world without breast cancer.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
